Help, i've just started to use CB's and shoot my first loads this past week and got some leading. The leading was thru out the length of the barrel with the most at the base but it all came out with some scrubing in 5-10 min.

The info:
9mm 125 gr rnbb with 4.0 of W-231 at 1.120 - lots of smoke but shoot good

9mm 125 gr rnbb with 4.5 of WSF at 1.120 - very lite smoke and shot well - liked this load
These came from Indiana bullet co.

Shooting a Glock 17 with a Lone Wolf 6" Stainless barrel
Sluged the barrel and it measurres .3565

My questions are will useing a larger diameter bullet of .3575 help and or should i increase or decrease the powder load

Thanks for your help, :veryconfu Steve :veryconfu

I have been shooting and casting 9mm for 27 years and through numerous 9mm weapons. My first mold was a Lee 356-125 2R which casts at .3585 and 125 grains with range scrap. I first sized at .356 which didn't work very well through a S&W 459. I switched to .358 and it shot great with 5 grains of Unique. I later bought a Lee 358-105 SWC which also shot great through the 459 sized at .358 over 5 grains of Unique. Earlier this year I bought a Lee 356-120 TC which casts at 125 grains and .358 with range scrap. This also shoots great over 5 grains of Unique.

Over the years I have tried Bullseye and W231 with the 9mm but have generally stuck with Unique. I have shot both boolits through a S&W 639 and 659, a Marlin Camp Carbine, and 5 different Glock 40s with Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrels, and a Taurus 709 Slim. Sizing at .358 has worked in everything and boolit lube didn't seem to matter. I've used Javalina, Lee 50-50, Rooster Red, Lyman, RCBS, Lars BAC, and home made loob.

I have been trading Plain Based gas checks with other members here. I've got some Lee 358-125 RF and some Lee TL356-124 2R that I will shoot with and without PB gas checks. Quite recently, I've been loading the Lee 356-102 1R (mine cast at .358 and 105 grains) with PB gas checks. I haven't shot a lot of them but I wanted to try shooting a lighter boolit through the Taurus. They were loaded closer to max and printed a nice tight group out of the little gun. I'll try some more at my standard 5 grain load but the Taurus really likes the 120TC with PB gas checks. I hope this helps. Frank

I'd go for the fatter boolits first, keep all else the same and see what happens.

I'd also try some water quenched fat boolits. That may be your ticket.

fcvan - After some initial trouble (leading) I went to straight air cooled WW's sized to .358. I was, at first, using the Lee 356-120 but that was just too small. Every trick in the book short of beagling didn't make them bigger than .3572. So, a kind member here sent me some plain base gas checks - they worked great. I'm a fan. Going to have to get a PB checkmaker from Pat. I like the boolit, it was just small. Ended up with a MP 125 Gr HP and of course that was diamonds. But the sizing to .358 really did the trick. enjoy Mike
