opener Finally!!

deer season opens this Sat. round these parts...finally after reading about all the other opening days
my plan is to use a 45/70 stoked with a 440 gr.Hoch cast with a 16-1 alloy
my son is also using a 45/70 but in a Marlin Guide Gun vs.my Ruger #1
been planning and waiting for what seems like forever [smilie=s:

Rifle season opens here in Middle TN Saturday also, but I have been laid up sick all week and couldn't move a deer if I shot one.

Ours opens tomorrow morning. I am starting with my mouse gun first, My BFR .500 JRH! [smilie=l:
Then down to the wimp .475.
I might need a blotter to soak up meat, no need to grind.
White Eagle, two great guns there. Both have always made my mouth water.

Ours opens the first Sat in Dec. so still 2 wks out, but going to SD after the ditch parrots right after Thanksgiving. Still tossing the coin on whether I carry the 480 or the 41mag. I have deer kills with the 41 and has done very well for me but I keep looking at the SRH and it is begging me to go along. Let you know how it turns out with pics of course.
