Just a 'head's up for any casters in the east central IL and west central IN areas. G&D Salvage at Loda, IL ('bout 90-100 miles south of Chicago and, maybe, 25 miles west of the IL/IN state line) has WWs for $.50/lb. I picked up a couple of 5-gal. buckets this afternoon and would guess they still had another 800#-1000# on hand.

Mine was 65 cents here, but they no longer (as of 2 weeks ago) sell to the public.

That's what's going on in this area, too. Locally, there are three major 'recyclers' who pretty well have the metals market sewed up...and none of them will resell to the public. Not too long ago, my long-time source for soft lead/WWs got out of general metals recycling and went completely to automotive salvage/scrap-out 'cause he couldn't compete with the big guys.

Guess, I'm lucky in western Kentucky. I get mine for 0.25/lb but, of course, there are a few culls.

$0.20 per pound. The tire shop said that was the scrap price they'd get. Sorting revealed about a 10-percent reject rate.

Kalifornia is trying very hard to chase away all bullet casters and firearms owners. Two more years and I'm outta here!!!!!! Rod
