OCL Question

Loading for the 8mm Mauser with 175gr. Lee
What should my OCL be ? Lyman says 2.830
Should I just go with that or reach out closer to the lands

Use what works.

1) It must feed through the magazine reliably.
2) You must be able to eject an unfired cartridge without removing the bolt.

After that.
Experiment for best accuracy.
Start with the bullet about .010 away from touching the lands.

Some like it touching, some like it further back.
Only your rifle can tell you.

One more thing.
Any time you see an OAL listed in a loading manual. That is the length they used in the testing. It is not a specification for your loading.

I seated to 2.855 which is .015 of the lands
