I recently bought some 140 grain 40 cal cast bullets from missouri bullet co for loading in a 40 s&w. the bullets are truncated cone flat points with a 401 dia and a bn of 18. I would like to use universal clays since I have quite a bit of it but can find no data in the manuals. I have seen recommendations on various forums for 4.8 and 6.5 grains. I called Hodgdons and they recommended 4.3 grains which is considerably below their jacketed data. I tried 5.0 grains which cycled the gun but didn't lock the slide back on an empty magazine and 5.5 which did. The gun is a glock 27 with a bar-sto barrel (cut rifling and fully supported chamber. Anyone have any experience with his? I want a reliable practice load for a carry gun. Thanks
