I'm going to be building a custom rifle on a Yugo 24/47 action, but the bolt I have is really ratty. There's a lot of deep pitting on the bolt body.
I checked Numrich and they have M48 stripped bolts, but none for the 24/47. Both rifles are intermediate length.

I wonder if I could buy a M48 bolt and use it with no problems?
Anybody have a M48 and a M24/47 that can give me a go ahead on this?
Should I call Numrich and ask?

Headspacing isn't an issue since I'm rebarreling it. I just need a bolt that doesn't look like the surface of the moon.

I've tried gunbroker, ebay and Amazon, but the only 24/47 bolt I found was just as bad as mine.

Thanks much,
John T.

As far as I remember, the will interchange. The only difference was the 48 had a bent bolt.

Yes, the M48 and 24/47 bolts are exactly the same....except for the bent handle on the M48. You won't even have to alter your 24/47 stock to use an M48 bolt....

Thanks guys.
I was hoping that was the case.

Hey Mike, I'll do that, if I remember. Numrich had 24/47 bolts for $30 and the HAVE M48 bolts for about $50. Since we're cutting and welding the bolt knob, it's kind a bummer to buy the bent bolt and pay more for it, but if I goof around and don't buy one, I'll be up the creek next semester.
Better to have a bolt in the hand, than two in the bush... or something like that.
