If I do 500 in a day that is a LOT of work. I can't even imagine doing more than double that in a day.......

How are you sifting out the jackets and things? I find a slotted spoon to be pretty slow. There is also quite a bit of dirt in there to skim off.

I use the slotted spoon but never tried to do that much in one day...WOW!
A regular spoon long handle, takes the dirt and other junk as dross once I flux really well.

China Mart used to sell a shovel shaped kitchen tool, (sq point ) made of 1/4" hardware cloth. It quickly and cleanly removes the jacket material, or WW clips. Any dipping spoon will then remove the dross. I trade both the ww clips and jackets for lead at the scrap yard.
At 70, I've given up trying to do anything fast. What I don't get done today, will give me something else, to do tomorrow. I expect 125-200# are all I care to tackle in a day.

I'll have to look for one of those. It's pretty slow going otherwise.

As I recall it was $1.99 at Walmart about 7 years ago. I see them on the wall rack with the cheap cookware at supermarkets too.

Last week I made ingots out of some WW's, some range scrap, and some leas pipe, about 400 pounds total. One of those square nosed spoons would be nice to have, i will be looking for one of those
