My Springfield 1911 would not feed my various LEE cast bullets. Short 1R RN, 200 grain SWC or the 200 grain RNFP.
Gunsmith friend suggested installing a EGW brand magazine release that is cut to raise the magazine a tad. This keeps my soft cast bullets from jamming on the feed ramp. The enter the barrel just a tad higher and all is happy.
EGW has a nice web site and shipping was fast.
The magazine catch comes stripped of the retaining catch and spring. Not a big issue.
I understand that on some guns your magazine might drag on the bottom of the slide. I use Chip McCormick Magazines and they fit fine.
