Volume wise, a ton is not a problem.

2.82 cubic feet. 1' by 1' by 2.82' = 2.82 cubic feet= 1 US short ton of lead.

That is if my Google-fu is correct.

Someone correct me, that seems small. I guess lead is heavy. Who'd a thunk.

A ton can be stored in a space about 4ft sq in most garage slabs. I have a bit more than 1/2 that & am always looking for more. Consider that 2000# is only 58K 200gr/45 bullets, not a lot over say 10yrs shooting.:(

hoard .... that sounds bad ... think of it as a investment ( that sounds better ) and rejoice when the price goes up and cry when it goes down ( but also buy more if/when possible when it's down :P )

My lead is stored in plastic 55 gallon drums cut in half. One for COWW, one for SOWW, and another for dead soft. The Lino stays in the shop.

l can get around 200 muffins in a 5gal bucket. 200x1.5lbs=300lbs. 7 buckets will hold abt a ton

it's 730 lbs a cubic foot.
so just buy three one cubic foot ingots at a time and things should be fine.
