Any good recommendations for a mold for the 6.5x55 Swede?

I fiddled around with several commercial molds for my M96 Swede finding that all of them were a bit too small. .264 when I needed .267. Finally, I sprung for a "custom" mold made by LBT and found true Swede happiness. I made a throat slug and sent it into LBT's Veral Smith who cut the 2-cavity mold to fit the throat on my rifle. I got a .267-140 SP/GC design which shoots fantastically if properly cast and loaded. Many shooters on this forum have found that a velocity of right around 1800 fps is most accurate with cast boolits in these rifles. Mine is no exception, but it will shoot 5-shot groups of one inch or less at 100 yards from the benchrest position if I do my part.

I have a 266469 that drops at .266 that shoots great. My bore is .267. I recently bought the NOE 269145. it also shoots very well.

I 2nd this one.I use mine in M91 Carcano and it shoots way better than I can handle it.I tried this rifle with other casts ( designs) and NOE beats them all hands down.

I've used 269145 in the 6.5x55 and 6.5x52. No leading and good accuracy. So far I've just used light loads (10 gr Herco). In a swedisch Mauser that load's recoil makes me think of a 22 lr.

I have that very mold as well and am in complete agreement with Curator.

I use the Lee 170gn, 6.5 Swede`Cruise Missile` mould from Mid-south Shooters Supply in Tennesee, for my M91 Carcano, it casts at .270.
I have 2 moulds, one full-sized and one cut down to produce a 150gn bullet.

You bet, Crabo! You know, after reading the article, I sent Larry a PM and told him how much I enjoyed it and how VERY much I appreciated the info becasue it has helped..... I was surprised to find out Larry is moving away from Puget Sound and going to AZ for retirement! Lucky him becasue I am flat SICK of the weather up here.....

Otherwise, good shootin'!!
