Good (insert your time of day here),

I read a while ago about swaging a plastic tip for a cast hollow point. Seemed like good idea for an industrious chap < but obviously not for me. I searched around the web and eventually found a site which produces top-of-the-line projectiles but also sells their plastic tips seperately. Which leads me to:

Has anyone here used the Talon tips or other bought plastic tips in their cast bullets?......?

(And no I have nothing to do with the company)

I'm inline to get some more molds and may try to mod a few for plastic tips. Reaching further out by using a bullet with a higher ballistic coefficient interests me. I'm not sure about terminal performance with such a set up though.

Cheers,
James

Nice idea, But brutaly expensive addition to a cast ( alredy as close to purrfect" ) Boolit @ $13.00 for 25 pc? Just my opinion, YMMV.

Why not just use hot glue?

how are you gonna get plastic to stay in a 375-f mold?

if you really wanna try it look at ski plugs they are in the right shape and a lot cheaper.
