Hey everyone my lee Tokerev Dies came with starting loads containing Vihtavuori N340 and or VihtaVuori 3N37. Can any other powder be used with the Tokorev round? I was thinking like Hodgon HP-38? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am loading Lead Boolits I dropped from a lee MOLD DC 311-100-2R. These are dropping consistently around 98 grains.

Heres' the best burn rate chart I know of: http://gsgroup.co.za/burnrates.html It isn't exact, but at least you can see what other powders approximate the VV powder's burn rate. Start with the lowest charge and work up.

Old fashioned Unique works very well for me. I am loading a 105 gr. bullet over 5.5 grain of Unique for both a C96Mauser and a CZ52. I quit at 5.5 gr in defeerence to the Mauser but I think Unique will steam your Tokarev pills to your heart's content.
