O.K. the turret system is a great time saver adjust your dies once and done.
well that sounds great until you take that first turret out of the press.
What you mean there is no way to sit this thing down??? I'll just lay it over here and watch it roll around, well I'll sit it up on the decapping pin, thats not a great set up the pin gets bent or damaged. well I'll loosen the pin and slide it into the die hey wait doesn't that defeat the purpose??

SOLUTION; I'll just cut a hole in a board that holds the turret well i'm not that good with a saw because it doesn't have a lot of shoulder. GOTTA BE A WAY;
find a piece of board mark the turret position.http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/torpedoman/turretproject001.jpg
take a 3/4 spade bit and make center mark for all the holeshttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/torpedoman/turretproject004.jpg
drill holes on first one to see if it works. holes can be 3/4 or 1 inchhttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/torpedoman/turretproject002.jpg
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/torpedoman/turretproject003.jpg

drill a bunch of holeshttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/torpedoman/turretproject005.jpg
test them all for fit and screw the board to a scrap piece of 2x4 the mount on wall

Well done T'man, simple and quick, I like it.

Tman here is another alternative. The upper piece is particle board but it can be anything. The bottom piece is 1/8 inch plywood. The hole in the particle board is just large enough for the disk to sit in. The hole in the plywood is 3/8th smaller than the large hole, to keep the disk from falling through. The small holes in the front face is to let the peg on the pegboard stick through.

I have the same problem with the die head of the Dillon 550 B. I came up with an easy and effective way for it:

Use a dowel of the appropriate size and taper the end to ease the location of the hole in the center of the die head. Then drop a short section of PVC pipe over the dowel of a length that keeps the dies elevated so you don't damage the decapping pin. I just used a scrap of 1x4 to set the dowels in:

Nice work guys. I have thought about throwing something like that together but never have. How far do you have to drop one to bend the decapping pin?

Nice work guys...but be sure you are not using pressure treated wood. It will eat (electrolysis) aluminum over time.

You guys are talented. All this time I've been sitting mine on a piece of shag carpet and the one with the powder measure in a coffee can weighted with boolits and padded with viva paper towels. I might have to make a rack now.

I also use some of the pewter cups I have found. Just by chance there cup inside dia. is just larger than the outside dia. of the turret dia. Double duty.

I just have a different Lee round die box for each turret. Just turn the bottom over and the turret fits right in. With the lid on the dies are protected from dust. works well.

My loaded Lee turrets go into plastic coffee cans with a bag of dessicant, along with the shellholder, extra expanders, etc. for the caliber. Keeps them from rusting and keeps the dust off. That's a row of them on the shelf:

Same here. They're worth the small amount they cost. I used a label maker so they are quickly identifiable as to which dies are in it. Only thing that sort of bothers me is that the lids aren't tight when you flip the bottom. But since they just sit on a shelf it's not really a concern.

Oh yes, you ought to see it NOW! That was a little less than a year ago after I got moved in and all set up. Now it's a certified deeeezaster area, properly layered with about forty projects sitting atop one another. It's amazing how much case forming for two different calibers, casting/lubing/loading for eight, building five project guns, some electroplating experiments, and the Lube Quest can take over a space.

The cleaning lady stays clear of that space ever since she sucked a live primer into her Dyson. That comment about "hurling particles" in the Dyson ads isn't a joke.

BTW, I used to use the cylindrical Lee die boxes for my turrets, but the dang tops never would go on all the way with a loaded turret inside, and buying them by themselves empty was too expensive ($4/each plus shipping), so I decided to pay $3 each for ones the right size and as a bonus they're filled with somewhat decent ground coffee beans.

You guys have inspired me. I'm almost through with my boat and once it's out of the garage, I'm going to make some holders for my RCBS die heads and post them.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about making something out of wood.
the plastic round die box that comes with the Dies works great.

I put my turrets & dies , as a unit , in an ammo box .

Think someone found the round turrets would fit in a 3" or 4" PVC coupling ? Think he mounted them on a board ? He may have even cut them in half to get twice as many out of a given number of couplings ?

God bless
