My new project

Last spring I bought a Mosin from one of my roommates at school. It was the receiver , bolt, and bottom metal. I had kicked around the idea to make it into a 45-70. When a fellow shooter offered me some 30-40 brass and ammo. After some looking and saving it's starting to come around. I got a barrel , turned down bolt handle made for it , and the little woman picked out a Boyds stock for it. I plan on doing a target contour on the barrel and setting a Rock Solid scope mount on to finish it off. I'll post pic's as we build the rifle .:p:p

Well next week we are going down to pickup our barrels. And I'm going to start working on the receiver, and truing the face up. I'm really looking forward to putting this combo together.:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Sounds like an interesting project to hone your skills on. After you finish it up, pick up a Krag-Jörgensen .30/40 and see what you could have had for the same money! (But I'm sure that isn't the point of the exercise. Have fun!)
