Can anyone tell me if Marlin fore ends that use the cap instead of a band are all the same? I want to get a walnut fore end for a Marlin 30AS that uses the cap style wood. Thanks

If the original configuration is a barrel band, modifications must be made to change to the forend cap or rifle forearm. Marlin should be able to guide you to the correct part for your gun. While not sure about the 336 (30) models, the 1894 has a long and short capped stock. Marlin generally take a portion of the summer off, so you should call them soon.

Thanks 1

I will give them a call. I did not know they took the summer off. Must be some German folks in management there.

Marlin does an annual shutdown much like the car companys used to do for model change before they got gready.
I saw it posted on their web site a few weeks ago. I think they shut down for 2 weeks every summer and a week at Christmas. Chuck
