An auto mechanic that used to work at a shop I took my business to opened his own place. He always did good work for me, so I'm now taking my business to him.

I took Janet's Saturn there this morning to have new tires put on the front. Chris pops up and says "By the way, I've been saving the wheel weights for you. I guess you're still makin' bullets, right?"

He's got a half bucket in the corner. It's not much, but it's more than I had this mornin', right? I'm goin' back next week with the truck to get 'em.

And he's got an empty 55 gallon barrel I can have to use for a burn barrel!

I put my truck in the shop for 2 new tires, some brake work, a state inspection, etc. The owner told me he had 75 lbs. of lead COWW for me already sorted. They're free...sort of.

Tony

I found a small local shop and the owner has hooked me up with about a hundred pounds of WW for free. So, when it came time for new tires I took my wife's SUV to him. When he was done mounting the tires I found 50lbs on WW in the back of the SUV.

Glad you got a little score in Jim! I don't look for WW's anymore as now they're all steel.

Good score but I wouldn't be able to resist throwing them in the
trunk of the Saturn right then!
A WW in the hand is worth 2 at the curb, or somepin like that...

The bucket that the wheel weights were in was pretty dirty. I didn't want to put it in Janet's car as I was afraid it would get on the carpet. I went back yesterday and picked 'em up.

My buddy told me he's keepin' all the old weights for me. He doesn't get a lot but it's more than I had before, right?
