Anybody have any good recipes with the Lee 1 oz and green dot for a 2 3/4"? I gonna try and save wear and tear on my scope. I think I damaged (or they didn't hold up) a couple of scopes testing slugs from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" hulls. I have a number of hulls, wads, nitro & hard cards, cork, and such. I'd like to keep the speed between 1200 and 1600 fps, closer to the low end. I also have 4756, herco, 800x, hs6, longshot, rexIII, and steel. But the HS6, Longshot, and steel does not quite get the accuracy out of my gun. I would like to keep the wad column as short as possible which suggest 800X. Possible temps while hunting could be from 0* to 40* F. I can fold or roll crimp, but of leery of the roll crimp damaging pedals while exiting the hull unless a overshot card is used on top of the slug.
If you have federal hulls, try this:
Federal hull.
WW209 primer.
19-21 grains of green dot
Federal 12S3 wad
1x 20 gauge .125" nitro card at the base of the wad.
1oz lee slug.
Fold crimp
If you are using Remington or WW hulls, swap out the federal wad for a WW pink wad. Everything else is the same.
These will probably print at least 6-8" high@ 50 yards if your shotgun shoots anything like mine. I have an idea where to hold when shooting these so it doesn't bother me.

My personal low recoil slug load consists of:
Win AA-HS hull
WAA12 or WT12 wad
24gr of 800-X, 25gr if I want a bit more power
Win 209 primer
1oz lee slug
Should fit and crimp perfectly...

How about a Remington STS/Nitro/GC with the same components?
