I've been lurking about for a while and finally registered today. I am new to casting for small caliber milsurps and have a couple of 303s I'm working with.
The first one is a Martini-Enfield whose barrel is an unissued replacement for an SMLE. It's got 303 and 311 bore and groove diameters and really likes the Lee C312-185-1R sized to .312 and with GC. I can sometimes get 3 shot groups you can cover with a quarter at 100 yards. After 3 shots everything gets fuzzy so it seems like a good time to stop.
The other rifle is an all original No1 MkIII* Lee Enfield with 304 and 314 bore and groove diameters. It doesn't like the C312-185-1R very well. I do have a Lyman 311467 that will drop bullets up to .314+ diameter. I'm about to try these, GC'd and sized to .314, to see what happens. That is, after the "Super Storm" has blown over.
Anyone had much success with the Loverin design in a Lee Enfield? I'm thinking it's time to shop around for something bore-riding and closer to .316 dia.
