Recieved my 30 cal check maker from Pat Marlin the other day and have already made over a hundred checks, real simple should have done this sooner. now to perfect the perfect load for my Mosin Nagant.

Casper, I got mine Saturday and picked up some Amerimax flashing on the way back from the post office. I've stamped out 1100 so far just listening to the radio. Ive had a 35PB and a 45PB Checkmaker for a couple months and have stamped many thousands with those. I get a kick out of making my own and not having to pay dearly for factory checks ever again. I'm having a lot of fun trying new loads with plain based checks and am dialing in some 30-06 loads with the 30 cal aluminum checks. Frank

At present I use a 200 gr. bore rider made by Accurate molds loaded with 23 grs. 5744. I was getting terrible accuracy (all over the target) until I seated the bullet to the lands. Then I got 1" groups at fifty yards. I do though need to have the forward band extended by .080. That way I can utilize the crimping groove . . . not that I need to. But with that I will have more bearing surface in the grooves. My groove diameter is .313 & I size to .315. I have found that I get very good accuracy with a Jacketed Hornaday .312, 150 gr SP at 100 yds. using 53 grs. H4831.
When I first bought the rifle (for $84.00) I thought that it was the ugliest rifle I've ever seen. But after refinishing the stock, scrubbing the bore & working out loads for both cast & jacketed . . . I love it! I have a scout scope mount (a rock solid one) with a Bushnell LER 2-6x32. What a great deer rifle for the investment!!
I wouldn't hesitate for one second to take this old girl deer hunting!!
