Shot this little girl last night.

She is not big by any stretch but she will be tender.

Bullet was water dropped wheel weight and lubed with some old Alox lube I have.
10.1g AA1680. Sub sonic but not sure of speed chrony stopped working.

High shoulder shot, broke rib, went thru both lungs, clipped the spine and exited the other side.

All that and she still made it 25 yds before piling up.

I have only shot and recovered 11 deer and my oldest son has shot one and my oldest daughter has shot one. All but 4 have run 25 to 50 yds with double lung shots. the only ones that have not run were one my son shot in the heart, one I neck shot and 2 that I spine shot.

These critters are tough little things.

HAHA. I have an Form 1 Short Barreled Rifle but we cannot hunt with SBR in NC. So I use my AR pistol Lower. Some of our gun laws are a bit strange. The barrel is 9.5 inches and just sticks past the end of the railed hand guard.

With my 10in barrel and 12 gr of 1680 I'm getting right at 1000fps. Is that an 8in barrel you're running?

At least you can hunt with rifles. We are allowed straight walled pistol cartridges, revolver or single shot pistol, or shotgun or muzzleloader.
I thought a lever action pistol (mares leg) would be a hooto hunt with, but cant use them here.

How far away was she?

It is 9.5 inches and if that is the case I am probably getting less than that. 10.1 gr behind a lee 200gr gives me 1025fps in a 16 inch barrel.
