Here are 4 saeco's i have had good luck with.Only the 630 is available now but i thought i would post pics in case others run across them.My experience is with using them in the 30-06 in 1903 Springfield and US P-17 Enfields.

#630-140g .310 body dia .300 nose

170"A" -is uncatalogued weighs 165g and is .309 dia with .300 nose.

#529- is a .310 cylinder with .302 nose and weighs 185g

#540- weighs 175g and is tapered a bit and runs .311 from the base band to .309 at the ft band with a .301 nose

All have occasionally given accuracy as small as .75 MOA at times. The 540 is the best for me but the 630 has done very well out of a 30-30 Bolt action HB built on a 788 a buddy owns (that i once owned)

I like the looks of that 540. Makes me think of the 308403 without the neck seating reverse taper on the base. Too bad they aren't available anymore, I'd buy a 2 holer if they were.

the 540 shot as well as the 308403 for me.I wish they still offered it as well.

You have some fine plain base molds ( and KNOW how to use them also ) !

I never got the #630 (140 gr PB w/57% bearing surface) to shoot nearly as well as the RCBS 150, could be the gas check on the RCBS or it could be the 60% bearing surface on the RCBS. The RCBS also has a wider meplat at 65% vs SAECO's 56% which is good for both hunting and tubular magazines.

Anyway, that is a nice collection of 30's.

IMHO the 630 is one of the best of the lighter plainbase 30's if your barrel is not "big" as the bullet only casts barely .310 with the small nose.I have had an RCBS 150 PB'ed by Erik Ohlen that did pretty well but not great. The SAECO 630 in a 30-30 Remington 788 bench rifle with a 1-12 Twist Douglas heavy barrel will often shoot sub MOA .In the 2 groove Springfield 1903 A3's with light loads of Bullseye it occasionally shoots as well as GC loads.I doubt a 3% bearing surface difference means anything but i dont drive PB rifle bullets much over 1250. If your drive them faster it could be why your results are different. When i go much above that level i sometimes get good groups but they dont hold up for long strings and the point of impact wanders too much.
