About 1/2 of it is.

My parents are moving and my Dad told me to pick up all of his reloading equipment.

That container of Unique is 4.5 lbs and factory sealed...

Thanks Gents!! That isn't all of it... ... ...

No, it is all still good. My Dad was meticulous about how it was stored...

Most of it is shot gun powder, but you wound understand that better if you saw the 5 MEC presses and the thousands of rounds of hulls in 12, 20, 28, and .410. I don't shoot shot gun much, but I REALLY like shooting handguns. Hence the thread questions on Red Dot and 700-X elsewhere...

Thanks gents!!

I'm still sad that I lost my metal keg of Unique (empty) in a move many years ago.

I am actually working on using up two cans of 540 just like yours. I picked them up back around 78 - 80 if I remember right. Back then I used them to load my shotshells, now I am using it to load for my 45 Colt. Still burns good, and shoots very accurately.

I also have one each of those large barrels of Unique, and 2400 that haven't been opened, plus one each I am about halfways through.

In looking I am also sitting here within arms reach of one of two 3# - 296 cans, note on the top says I opened it in 94. I poured it from the big can into a 1# can and used it as needed. It was the second of the two I picked up a WHILE back. I use the remainder as a standard when I work up loads using the surplus 297 that I picked up to replace it. When it's gone I guess I will have to settle for what ever is available then.

how do you guys have room for that stuff in your loading room?
i just tossed a bunch of those old cans, and about 50 real old shotshell boxes.
i did keep a box of new never loaded rxp hulls and origional rxp wads.
plus a bunch of alcan wads with data,i'll probably try some al-5 with those wads for grouse next year.

LOL!!!

All of this came out of a 40 by 60 barn. My Dad had 1/3 of it enclosed it has A/C and full plumbing. The two of use even welded metal shelves around the main “shop” and also on top of the 1/3 finished out apartment. The gun room is a closet off the main 15-10 reloading room. I am talking about a loooot of storage and “stuff.”

Duane

The reason my Dad hung onto a lot of it was because my Grandfather and my Dad bought it together. That is also the reason I have a 600 & 650 MEC for 20ga's...

i have one room on the main floor of the house, one down in the basement, and built in my 16x30 garage just for storage, reloading and casting.
the wife said it was getting out of hand a while back.
then my dad just had me come get most of the stuff we had bought together years back, and now i know it's out of hand.
i only got half of the stuff from his place home and started attempting to putting it away.
then realized i don't even have all the machines i have now mounted.
there is no way i'm gonna get the ones i brought home set-up, without some serious re-vamping of the system.

It seems like the only reasonable way out of this dilemma is a 32x30 worksite ;)

i'll try to fly that one past the financial minister.
i'll settle for a 12x16 storage shed right at this point.
maybe i could get all the kids moved out and take over the upstairs, i'll just rip all the walls out and make a reloading loft.
that would be pretty cool easy to heat too.

sorry for the thread drift...

No matter how much you plan, you'll run out of space, long before stuff.
