@ .75 a pound, from an old compotion shooter. The jug is full of the type, the box is all the ignots from a type of solder he said. And everything in the blue crate looks like an alloy from a commercial dealer. I have to test the hardness of the stuff in the crate to see what it is. And the bottom pour ladle cost a whole 5 bucks. And he still has about 12 more antifreeze jugs with either wheel weights or type in them.

The commercial looking ignots are @ 15.4 and the smaller home poured are coming in @ 9.2 bhn. Can anyone tell me what I have in the first pic, mono or lino?

No clue. Could be anything. My bet is at that BHN they are Lyman #2 or 92/6/2 hardball. Look like Rotometals ingots a bit but that's no guarantee. Any writing on the ingots?

I meant the letters sitting on top of the ignot, monotype, but very small? I was leading toward Lyman 2 on the big ignots because of hardness.

Lino and Mono are a lot harder, 24 and up. Sounds similar to Lyman #2.

If you look at the little t shaped letters on the ignot in the first picture, they are what the jug is full of. He said linotype, but I thought the individual letters were mono. I'll post a better pic of the letters later.

I've never seen monotype in "I" shaped pieces before. What is the hardness?
That is probably what it is though.

Not sure on hardness yet, haven't tested a piece yet. Well test one tomorrow if it's big enough.

The hardness is coming in about 9 on the bhn scale.

Either that is a giant penny or those things are microscopic.
Try water dropping some boolits cast straight from this. It will give an idea if the 9 hardness comes from antimony or tin.
