Hey,

Would someone with a Pat Marlin gas check maker for plain base bullets for a 357 and/or 44 mag be willing to sell me a couple hundred to test with? I'd prefer they are made out of pop cans as thats what I expect I would do with the dies. Happy to pay for them.

Thanks

Californiay-

I would setup a guy with a lifetime calibers of Checkmakers™ to put the engine back in my old baby.

Maybe even throw in a Marlin ...

Dang, if I was that good a mechanic I'd take that deal. I've been lucky that mine has only need a carb or different pumps.

Way to work the hustle Pat! The scout sure will be a neat project when done.

Scout800a, I don't sell checks but have done some horse trading. I recently sent 500 to a guy and he sent me some boolits in a design I do not yet own. What do you cast? I'm punching 35PB and 45PB out of beverage cans (ok, beer cans mostly) and they work great! I will warn you though, when you try plain based gas checks you will have wished you just went ahead and ordered the dies from Pat. His turn around time is weeks nowadays, not months. Frank

Trade is cool too. I cast or have access to molds for 9mm, .40, 357, 44 and 45 (acp or colt) what are you interested in?

Our 357 (150 WC, 158gr and 175 gr), 44 (240 grain) and 45 (200gr and 275 gr) molds are old RCBS or Lyman, I'd have to run out to my Dad's to find out part numbers. I think he's had most of them almost as long as I've been around. The 357 in 175 gr is a really good one. It's shot well in every 38 or 357 pistol we've tried. Everything from a Clark, colt, ruger or smith. Some of these are one of the things i want to try the GC's on. I just picked up a Rossi/interarms rifle i'm going to work up some loads for.

Scout, those all sound good. Oddly, I'm interested in some wadcutters. I've been debating a wadcutter mold for a while. With all the great boolit styles out there it's hard to beat a classic. Frank

What did you have in mind for trade? How many boolits/checks? I can get some wadcutters cast. Wheel weight aloy ok? I can go harder or softer if you prefer. I'll ship sized and lubed with Carnuba Red or BAC lube. I'm happy to mix and amatch an order too if you want a few of some of the others.
