I've got stainless Bisley that's had the throats reaamed an to .4525" and had a trigger job. Darn good shootin' gun...good shootin in good light anyway. I've done quite a few searches, phone calls, e-mails, etc looking for Hi-Viz or tritium sights for this gun...even talked with Ruger. The stock sight is .450" high and that ain't none too high. With the pinned front sight replacement would be easy if someone made a decent replacement.
Did I miss something? Does anyone know of a replacement front sight or even a front and rear set that will work with the .45 with heavy bullets? IMO the ideal set up would be a three dot tritium set up with a patridge front blade. Probably wouldn't be cheap but it would surely make the gun more useful in the woods for my aging eyesight.

Talk to the folks at Trijicon and Meprolight. They can probably install a Tritium lamp in an existing sight. Once you establish that, look at Jim Stroh's Revolver Sight Kit (http://www.alphaprecisioninc.com/revolver/sight.html), or something similar. I mention him because his front sight is very popular, but there are some other very nice and versatile arrangements available from Jack Weigand, Hamilton Bowen, and others. Pick the sight you want, get it installed, then send the gun out for a Tritium lamp.

Like you said, it may not be cheap, but it will be exactly the way you want it.

Thank you nichols55. I didn't think about the possibility of getting an insert installed in the stock sight...
