I recently put a Hornady auto-bullet feeding die on my 4 hole turret press...and I am impressed, it works well with only one minor issue.
I bought the Hornady from midway, because I need to use it with my cast lead boolits. And after watching a couple youtubes from the same guy, was told that the RCBS die didn't work with them...but the Hornady will, when buffed inside the steel collets.
And it does work, and holds 7 to 8 itself because the die without any tubing is 5" tall. That makes it restrict the powder loader adjustment for the flaring I want...and am forced to either under flare, or over flare the cases, because there is only one way the bullet feeder will miss the powder loader, and still screw into the turret.
I'm going to solve those issues, one way or another. I've ordered a couple more items from midway...one is another extender to raise the powder loader another couple inches...but now I'm realizing as I write this, the the clear rigid plastic tube I'd put on the bullet feeder to hold more bullets, will still cause the same problem...damn.
The other item is an RCBS bullet feeding die, because I just can not believe that the plastic collet in the RCBS die can't be buffed to accommodate lead boolits too.
So, I'll let y'all know how that works.
BTW...I decap, size and reprime thru the 1st die...load powder and flare the mouth with powder die...add the boolits thru the bullet feeder die...seat and roll crimp with the seating die. I works on a turret press~!!
