It is a little slower than 2400 , so it probely would be best suited for mag loads

I contacted aliant once about it and all they replied was it was not suitable for handgun loading. WHY i havent got a clue. I never did try it as theres other powders that serve the same purpose but id be curious to as to any load data that worked with it.

and I guess working up some 454 casull loads would be a starting point at least, albeit a safe one.

What I was able to get out of them was, IIRC, they found erratic pressures in metallic cartridges as temperature changed.

Hercules/Alliant 2400 has been my go-to powder in 410 for a lot of years. It has more than proven its value as a magnum revo fuel, and as a cast boolit rifle powder it gets a LOT of use on my bench. It's kind of a shame that Alliant 410 hasn't worked out as a more flexible fuel--like 2400.

Does anyone know how well AA 4100 works in magnum pistols? That may be what you're looking for although I've done well enough with 2400.

have a pound of 410,just looking for another way to use it up,as the jury is still out on it, using it for skeet loads, and got 4lb of 296 which I like alot better, but scorches the PP out of the plastic hulls.
I think I`ll dump 15grains into the 454 brass and top off with some resized
45-70 300gr RN, see what that does.
