I found a five pound ingot of merit metal babbit today at the scrap yard google says its 74%pb, 16%sb, and 10%sn. I was able to pick it up for 15 bucks not sure if thats an good price but i took it. Does anybody know what would be the best way to alloy it into something usefull.

There are a lot of options.

If I had it, I'd mix it 1 to 3 with pure lead. The result would be like wheel weights on steroids.

Sounds good to me I use ww for everything. Keep thinking to myself I should try something new for riffle though.

Here are some pure lead recipes:
1 lb babbitt + 9 lbs pure lead = alloy with 1.00% tin, 1.60% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 8 lbs pure lead = alloy with 1.11% tin, 1.78% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 7 lbs pure lead = alloy with 1.25% tin, 2.00% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 6 lbs pure lead = alloy with 1.43% tin, 2.29% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 5 lbs pure lead = alloy with 1.67% tin, 2.67% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 4 lbs pure lead = alloy with 2.00% tin, 3.20% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 3 lbs pure lead = alloy with 2.50% tin, 4.00% antimony
1 lb babbitt + 2 lbs pure lead = alloy with 3.33% tin, 5.33% antimony

Just punch your numbers into one of the custom alloy spaces and then save it until you use it up.
