I found an ad not to long ago on Craig's list for lead, and it turned out this guy has a bunch of reloading/ casting gear from his late grandpa. I've been giving him ideas as to the worth on a bunch of things he has, and in turn has worked out for me. Picking up a rock chucker in great shape for 50 bucks, and while I'm there I'm going to get some of the lead in the photos. He says there is about 600 lbs in ingnot form, and about 150 in other forms. I'll see what kind of deal on the lead we can work out when I get there, wishing I had deeper pockets. He has lots of quality reloading gear.

If he happens to have a set of 30 rem dies, I would be interested.

If he has another cast Iron SS press I'd be interested in that?

Boy, I never get over how little 600 pounds looks like sitting in a pile...

Good on you for helping the guy out with honest pricing. Pretty clear that he appreciates it too.

He had some low ball offers on the lead, and done other items. I just gave him some numbers and directions to this page to use as a general reference. He said he's holding the lead until I get what I want.

I am taking my hardness tester with me so that I can have a general idea of what's there, and so he can at least know the bhn for the next person that comes calling.
