I would appreciate any recommendation on which mold I should purchase that would be good for deer hunting and all around shooting.

+1 on the RCBS 35- 200. It works very well in my 35Rem.

The 190 gr. Ranch Dog is also quite accurate and a proven proformer in that caliber

As far as accuracy the RCBS 200gr FNGC is one of the top choices weither from a SS pistol , revolver or rifle of any 35 caliber cartradge they fit in , you can also single load if it wont function in the action .
For hunting the ranch dog might be the best choice, if still avalible ?

I appreciate all the help. Now can anyone suggest a good deer hunting load for both the 35 Rem. and the 358 Win. Again thanks.

As far as the 35Rem goes...all the ones I have ever had (pre micro marlins) liked W748/H335/IMR30-31 powders under the RCBS 35-200. The RCBS 35-200 just plains shoots in any appropriate 35 calibers I have ever shot it in. It even shoots good in my Whelen at speeds that cannot be correct for cast.

I just use 200gr jacketed load data for my 35Rem and it works great. I'm getting about 2200fps and 2" or so 100yd accuracy with my M8 Rem and its iron sights. I think I am using IMR 3031 but I don't recall how much.

For the 358 winchester with the venerable RCBS 35-200-FN, the boolit should drop right at .359 with WCWW.
Cast up a bunch of them and spray them with non-stick cooking spray.
Seat hornady gas checks on those babies and tap tap tap them through a .360 Lee push through sizer.
Check out run5run's simple green lube, and FWFL.
Dip the boolit in hot lube and wipe the base on a paper towel.
Run them back through the sizer to wipe the lube into the grooves.
Load your cases with a charge of IMR 3031 or even better (even though I have yet to try it) IMR 4198.
A good hunting load you will have.
I would also mention (sorry can't help it) if you can get a Lyman 358318 and load it the same way to about 2000 fps, you will have the most deadly whitetail load I know of. The 358318 tumbles consistently at that velocity from a 1-14 twist pipe. ie, it goes in strait and exits sideways leaving an impressive wound that really puts the smackdown on whatever you shoot with it. Something to think about.
Even though the RCBS 35-200-FN is hands down a more accurate boolit, the 358318 is what I hunt with.

Tim, a .35 boolit does not need to tumble to be effective. I personally would get rid of a mold if it did that.

Oh No now that is a Can of Worms lol. :)

But I also think the 35-200 would be a good choice. I have a Mold that is close to it that was made by BRP. That does OK from my 358 Winchester. :)

This is just some 5 shot Test Loads I did with my 358 Winchester at 50 yards. :)

But....I love it:(
Don't knock it till you try it! Besides, it is entirely possible that I have been pushing that one too blazin fast. I just learned a few tricks I never heard of (like keeping it below 1800FPS:mrgreen:) It is entirely possible that I just never found the right combo for that boolit.
I tell you though, I cant get rid of it because it is the only 35 caliber rifle mold that my dad passed down to me. Even if I get it to shoot more accurately, I hope it never stops tumbling on impact, cause that just plain works:twisted:.
Hey Jester, it looks like that 3031 is working out nice for you huh? Heh heh.
You should be hovering right around 1800FPS correct? Does the group hold at 100, or have you had a chance to test that far out?

Nope I have not had a chance to give it a try yet at 100 yards.

I use the NOE RCBS clone in a RG2. There is a rerun of that mold on active group buys now. I've ordered a RG4 this time. The RG molds give you the choice to cast hollow points or solids. I've shot a few feral goats with the hollow point and it puts them down quick.

If you don't like RCBS molds try the Saeco 352 @ 245 gr or try to find a LY 358627. You can bump a pretty good flat point on a Ly 358430 195 gr version and it is PB but I do not think the cost of gc is excessive to hunt with.

I am going to put another vote on the RCBS mold

I would have probably said the Ranch Dog mold as well, but he sold out of them this month and they are know discontinued.

The two loads I've been happy with in my 35 rem is 30.5 gr of H 4198 and second is 38 g of 4895 both with the ranch dog 190

An alterante to 358318 is the lighter weight version. Off the top of my head I think it's 358315.

My Marlin 35 Rem likes the Ranch Dog 190 gr and 36.0 gr IMR 3031 and a standard Remington primer. I have not run this load over the chrono, but I did check the same load using a 200gr jacketed bullet and it clocked 1943 fps.
