Is anyone here casting and loading for the .264 Win Mag? I don’t have much info on this caliber in my books. Any load recommendations? Thanks

No, but on the other hand a guy gave me a bunch of .264 brass that I have no use for. PM me if your interested. Dennis

I did a long time ago. I used H870 with 125 Noslers and got great velocity and accuracy for a deer rifle. I'd guess that H4831 would be a good choice these days, or perhaps some of the surplus 50 cal. powders.

For cast loads I'm not so sure that all that case capacity will be helpful to you.

Not a popular round I guess.

I'm thinking that it is not a real popular round. But also it is even less popular for cast bullets as it is a high performance long range round that has a need for speed in order to excel. Dennis

You could paper patch a 120 gr 257 cast and see how it shoots. You can drive paper patched to jacketed velocities. 4831 would work.

I never thought about that. Could give it a try.

I have a custom mauser with double set triggers made up in 264 Win Mag. I only have reloaded J-words. I had to make my brass from 338 win mag brass wich was SUCH a pain. I used H-1000 cause that is what I had on hand. I dont remember velocity, but the blast and fireball was huge. Only animal I ever shot with it was at 3 feet on a coyote. The blast removed the hair around the bullet hole. I found I enjoyed my 6.5x55 custom more.
