Clearance on master master

For those with Master Casters machines what is the clearance between the mold carrier and the rails.

On my new machine there was zero clearance. In fact it was binding.

Also just for reference my new machine came with a 41 mag mold dated 2004!!

I adjust the rails so they just close the mold and align it with the spouts. I also use some lube on the rails and the sprue rod. The lube really makes things smoother.

You'll find that molds vary slightly in width. I also have some Lyman, RCBS and Saeco molds that have been converted for the Master Caster, so I'm always adjusting the rails to fit the molds.

You'll also find that the clearance between the molds and the rails will change slightly as the pot heats up. If your mold was binding when everything was cold, it may have been adjusted properly for when it's heated up.
