My father in law, a bullseye competitor since 1956 had a stroke yesterday. He has asked us not to prolong his suffering and I think his wife and kids will abide by his wishes. I humbly request you keep him and his family in your prayers and that he suffers little and is rewarded much. Thank you.

This is a rough time for the family. It is very hard to know what to do at this time even though a request for no life support has been made by your FIL. You all need wisdom and I am sure you will do what is best. You are in my prayers.

"and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."

God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us;
no matter what our situation, no matter what stage of life we are at; He has promised His children an eternity in heaven with Him. We, His children are all working toward our "graduation day".

While it will be difficult for you and your family, you can rest in the certainty of God's promises.

His eye is on the sparrow, how much more is He concerned with you and yours.

Prayers ascending for God's grace and peace,
vern

Cast Boolits Crowd:

Thanks for all your prayers. Today's update: Pop is awake and conversing, though slow and garbled at times. Right arm is severely weak but he managed to stand with assistance and move his right arm and right leg.

For those who know or wish to Google "NIH Stroke Scale," he was reported to me as a 30 on arrival in the ED and when I first saw him I estimated him at NIHSS=24. Today, five days since his stroke, I estimate NIHSS=8-10. Remember I am his son-in-law, not his nurse, but this is my profession.

The doctors and his family cannot understand his 'miraculous' recovery, but we know. Thank you for this outpouring and for your real help in his recovery.
