I have found a 336 marlin in 35 rem that the man bought second hand 30 some odd years ago. He is guessing it is about 50ish yrs old from what he can remember. picws he sent look really nice. I have not met him yet in person. 4 power scope mounted on it.

For gun, case, and 4 boxes of rem coreloct he wants 350. Is this good, bad or about right?

Terrible deal, don't buy it. The 50ish year old models are VERY dangerous. Give me his number so I can contact him and tell him personally.....:kidding:

That is a very good deal. The gun alone is 450+ hereabouts, all that other stuff is just frosting on the cake! Heck, 4 boxes of ammo is 90.00. Unless it is one of those alligator boat guns, you should jump on it like a starving fox on a fat hen.

Dating a 336 is pretty simple and precise...There is a date code in the serial number:

The Marlins of that era are my favorits, if the gun is in good shape the only way you can make a mistake is not buying it.

Now if it's a straight stock model......................

Also known as a 'Texan' to those of us that suffer from Marlinitis...

Some will pay a bit more for one...

I paid over 400 for my 35 Marlin with a 24 inch barrel which is probably what put me over the edge. It was worth it as it is my primary deer rifle.
