I will be watching this auction with interest. I am too far away to want to bid at about 1850 miles one way.

I have been watching and bidding on spent brass in 5.56 and 7.62 for a month or two. What I find it the small lots go for far, far more per lb than really makes sense. Once you cross the threshold into a lot size a single person or small group wouldn't want, the price per lb drops way off.

Curious if the same is true for lead. The guys here that might be interested should definitely correlate, designate a bidder and agree on terms to split the lead rather than bid against each other.

Hey Trav, Beagle and Wolf, is a 4th person too many? 800+ lbs each? I'm about 2hrs from Anniston and real close to you Beagle (just west). I'd be very interested in going in with you guys to cut cost and share in the labor to weigh and divide it. We could nominate a person to bid for us (up to a designated cap). I could never afford the whole lot anyways, but I'd be all over a group buy with you folks close enough to get in on it, if we could work something up. :D I wouldn't want to try to buy it for myself, or even split it in half with somebody (way too much lead!) but I wouldn't wanna go that far for 35 lbs either. Somewhere in between works for me, if we can pull this off! [smilie=s:

That's just the starting bid of 150.00. This auction runs for 31 days, I'm guessing that the final price will be about 2400.00 + 10% bid fee, so about 2640.00.
Weight of crates and steel bolts , I'm guessing about 15% so actually 3280-500 = 2780 lbs. $2640.00/2780 lbs is about $1.00 lb.

What's your guys guesses?

Notice that there are 2 bolts and nuts in each terminal. The drums and wire basket along with the pallets are included weight wise. That's a lot of junk iron and wood to be separated and disposed of.
The terminals look to be badly oxidized.
I wouldn't plan on getting rich on it.
