Does anyone make one for the 7.62x54R.
Will any other caliber sizer work?

Tired of overworking my brass when a simple neck sizing would work.

BK I believe Lee will make you one for 50.00, look on their site under custom services.

Lee has suspended custom services except for a couple items until spring 2013.

They as well as others are trying to get caught up on backorders.

take care,

Lees custom service is closed until mid 2013 as they say the backlog is just too great.

"...7.62x54R. Will any other caliber sizer work?"

A .308 die should do fine, the important dimensions are quite similar.

Beekeeper, I wonder whether you could use a .303 British collet sizer since the cases are almost the same length: 2.22" for the .303 Br. v. 2.10" for the 7.62 x 54R. You'd need to raise the latter by ~1/8" though.

I've done this from time to time. Just back your FL die out so that all you are sizing is the neck. You can see this easily ... just look at the neck and you should be able to tell the difference between the sized and unsized portion of the neck. I prefer collet dies ... but this sure will do the trick when that optioin's not available.

I ordered an extra collet and mandril for my 303 Brit die,I shortened both to the proper length for the Russian round. Eventually I made a mandril that sizes the neck to fit my cast boolits.

The problem with most FL dies in 7.62X54 is that the neck is sized to work with .308 bullets. When the expander for the .312 is used it works brass to much to suit me.

+1 works like a champ.

If/when I buy a Lee collet sizer for 7.62x54R, I expect I'll start with a .303 British one -- as Beemer has done, shortened to fit the Russian case (and I might very well make a mandrel for cast and/or paper patched boolits). Initially, I'll most likely hone the neck of a full length die sold in a set, adjust it so it doesn't quite start sizing the shoulder, and make an expander spud to fit the honed neck size (which will fit my .314 cast boolits).

Edit to add: you could also use a 7.62x39 collet die for 7.62x54R, though I don't know for certain that Lee's set doesn't size to .308 in that chambering also.
