OK, good idea or bad?

Diluted CLR and water half and half to dip brass in that has that black tarnish that never quite comes clean in the tumbler. Dip, rinse, dry and tumble.

I think I found my own answer.......back of the bottle in small writing says what not to use it on brass along with a BUNCH of other things.

Use vinegar instead.

I use it all the time with no ill effects... CLR contains phosphoric acid, which does it copper and zinc, and the worst that happens is it turns your brass pink if it sits in there too long.

I recently turned to using citric acid and laundry soap.
