A friend at work gave me this plumbers lead set up. The lead is stamped pure. Two propane tanks (not sure how to refill) and a smelting burner with small melting pot. also one bar of solder.

I've got one of those as well. I wish I could remember where it came from, but it has worked pretty well for me. There's only one place around here that I know of that will fill it, but since they're the cheapest place to get propane in town anyways, I wont complain.

They fill the same way a regular propane tank fills with the same nozzle. It screws into the threads in the center of your mount. Your mount has external threads to mount the burner and internal threads for an extension hose or refill. I have one I've been using for over 30 years now, works great!

I've got one of those, but I use a turkey frier base now for melting, but still use the pot. Local supplier will not refil the tank.

Had the same problem till I stenciled "Commercial use only" on the tank. Now no problem.

We paint LP tanks red and Stencil "Welding and Burning gas" on them in black paint.
They fill them anywhere here in Alaska...
