I have a chance to purchase ten 13" RWC pewter charger plates for a reasonable price. Total weight will be in excess of 8 lbs. My big question is RWC brand pewter the real thing or a alloy mix that does not meet the high percentage of tin I am looking for in my boolit casting.:)

My google-fu found "RWC" used alongside the word "Wilton", which is not a good sign.
Wilton Armatale is not pewter, but rather some sort of aluminum alloy.

Does it look like this:

A good test for pewter is to try to bend it. If it bends easily, then you should buy it. If not, then no harm trying.

You could post a picture of the stamp on the bottom and that would help a lot.
Is it RWC or RWP?

bumpo628;

Thank you for your speedy reply. You saved me a 60 mile drive and 40 bucks. After getting your reply, I called the seller this morning and sure enough, those pewter plates were Wilton brand . I advised him that I was passing on buying them as they were not real pewter.
