I watched the youtube video and that tumbler looks like it works really good. Where did you get your motor? Do you know how many rpms? Did you order your magnets online? Does it clean the cases fast? Sorry about all the questions, but I gotta make one of these.

I use an old clothes drier as my tumbler. I will post pictures tonight.
I just wached the video. Good idea but My concern is that the tumbler won't handle but a few casses at a time.

If anyone needs some of these magnets to build your own, let me know as I am always interested in trades for brass or boolits (especially 45 Long Colt, or 357 mag). As I said, I have a lot, and access to a bunch more.

That is an excellent "Home Grown" whiz banger.
I wish he show it working on some metal, or the results.
His voice sounds uncannily like a guy I worked with. Same slow drawl.

It looks like it would be great because you could take the bowl and contents to the sink easily for rinsing.
Wear it out, run to the cupboard for one of the wife's Tupperware bowls. :roll:

44 Vaguero, go to "amazingmagnets.com" Inch and half x inch and a half x half inch thick,,, rare earth magnets. about 80 bucks. Washes brass in 15 mins and help anneal it too! SS media i bought at midway. MAYBE 900 RPM OR LESS IS BETTER. WATER LEMI-SHINE AND DAWN.

All that was left in the clothes dryer was the shell, the motor, the mount and the drum. The hardest part was putting the three fins inside the drum that holds the 6 gallon bucket. So the bucket sets in the center of the drum.
The dryer is tipped backwards far enough so that the water in the 6 gallon bucket does not touch the bucket cover.
It's not as purty as J Morris's stuff but it works. And my wife is very glad its outside in the pole barn for all the noise it makes!:D

Gunoil, Thanks for the info. I have already built mine however it needs stronger magnets. I will be ordering 1.5 inch x .25 or .5 inch (N50 rated) this week. It should put on quite a show!

I am usually pretty industrious. My lyman polisher went out last week It was about 5-6 years old. I went up to and it was hot but not running.

I briefly thought about making either a shaker or roller style but ended up getting a berry unit. It was 59 dollars. Holds over twice what my lyman did and and runs with out much noise, It also has a cooling fan.

If you decide that you want to purchase one rather than make one. The Berry is a decent unit.
