I have a .30/30 marlin 336 cs serial number 10xxxxxx. what year was it made?

Entered your serial number on a Marlin info site. Got a (entered invalid serial number) error. So here's a helpful site for you to use.

Excess650 is correct.
By the way, if I were you, I'd go back and X out all but the first two numbers of your rifle s/n. Not a good thing to post on line.

I have a CS, I believe it means custom stock, I bought mine at wal-mart back in the mid 1990s for 20.00 you could upgrade the walnut stock. Glad I did that but sad that a buddy banged up the stock some. Gun safes are good for some things but sure need to be organized to avoid such tragedies.
