Pooch,

Welcome to castboolits. I'd been casting for no less than 25 years when I found the site. I had a Magma Engineering Master Caster, Star Lube Sizer, plenty of other casting gear. And this was long before discovering castboolits.

I learned more in my 1st 18 months here from other members than I ever knew about cast boolits before.

You'll not find a more helpful, knowlegable group of men and women anywhere.

Again...WELCOME!

Ditto. I've learned more here in the past four or five years than I have in the first 35 years of making my own ammo.

Welcome, Pooch.

May I recommend the stickies and the book by Fryxel (sp).

I, too had many years of casting under my belt then finally learned what is all about from the great folks here.

Go to the sticky section and look at the book that DRNURSE1 was telling you about. The spelling is Fryxell and he co wrote it with another famous man of bullet casting by the name of Applegate.
They decided to make it available for free to this forum.
The name is From Ingot To Target and it is 178 pages in length. I suggest if you do nothing else on this forum, copy this book. I purchased a nice three ring binder and a set of new ink cartridges for my printer and went to work. It is full of valuable information.
I started casting in 1970 and was working in a gun store where I purchased my first Star. I use this book for reference all the time. It will also keep you from asking questions that all new comers including myself ask.
There is nothing wrong with asking questions when in doubt. In fact it is the correct thing to do but if you read this book it will give you all the informatio you need to enjoy this hobby of ours.
Welcome aboard and smooth casting to you.
