Found an older thread someone wanting to use ballisi cast, not sure if they were wanting commercial blocks? Anyways I am interested in the BD 45, I could have one made up by accurate, but thought having a HP added to it? Has been done? Better off gettin one through accurate then having mod done? I like the setup Mihec uses. Any thoughts, points or suggestions?

I have the NOE crimp groove version (HP is old single pin variety) but would love to have an MP Cramer style 4-cavity.

That's cavernous! How well does it hold together? Lookin for mushroom with little to no fragmentation. Would be using at 900 to 1100 fps, and fairly soft alloy.

That thing has got buy me written all over it :-(. Id find it very hard to say no to 1 in one of Miha's beautiful brass creations. What does this weigh as a HP and as a solid?

Original creation is around 230 grain.

Nope the original BD 45 230-235 gr solid with no crimp groove.

When I buy NOE hollow point molds they are of the old-style single pin variety. Swede provides me with several extra blank pins so I can grind any profile size/style I want. These can also be adjusted to any depth I prefer as well. By changing the alloy + pin profile+ depth you can produce just about any expansion you wish.

GLL, Can you post pics of your NOE so I can get an idea? Only one cavity HP'd right? Like the idea of modifying depth with same pin.

This is what I've been looking at for dimensions, were there any revisions since this?

Will this design involve a crimp groove or not. I'm in if its the bullet GLL has cast.

Hope not was looking to get the original BD45 with hollow point options. Believe the one GLL has is currently offered by a NOE.

I'll sit back and see how this develops. I'm only interested in a lighter weight boolit for a levergun with a crimp groove. If it evolves that way I'm in. :bigsmyl2:

What happened to the photos Jerry posted?

He pulled the pics to avoid confusion in the thread, the thread is for a run of the BD45 with hollowpoint, what he posted and what your looking for is available from Swede.

No worries, I'd actually like a brass cramer mold but I'll take a look at the NOE RG offering.
