How do you tighten the screw plat screw on a Saeco mould. They always seem to come loose after a short time. Shoul I drill and tap the for a set scew like Lymans moulds?

They have a set screw but it's located 90 degrees from the Lyman position in a long hole that goes through the length of the block.

cdet - I do that to all my molds that don't already have it. Then I cut a piece of heavy solid copper wire and put it under the set screw to keep from damaging the sprue plate screw threads. That's my deal. enjoy Mike

Never thought of copper wire. Great idea.

I also forgot to mention that I sent an email to Redding. They responded within less than 12 hours because I sent it after hours. This is the quickest response I have ever had. Just hours not days.

One of the little brass balls off an old style electric pull chain works well.
