I was browsing through and noticed a lot of Garand loads. It made me wonder about loads for my SVT since they call it the Russian Garand sometimes. It has an adjustable gas valve, and I just replaced the cup and piston with new ones. I was thinking 50+ grains of WC860 under a 180-200gr boolit maybe? Could the BobS load be adapted for use in 7.62x54r?

Whoops, I thought I was putting this above in the Military load section

WC860 is a good powder to load with I use 58 gr with a 200gr boolit in my 03a3 '06, not sure about the 7.62x54r case capacity compared to '06 but that get me 1850+ fps out of the 03A3.Accuracy isn't bad ether but that will be up to you to find out what your rifle likes.
I have went as high as 65gr but the accuracy wasn't good above 58 so didn't try that much anymore. Some duplex it in the bottle neck case but I didn't like that at all as the pressure rose dramatically.

I had 3 extra cases, some Lee TL .309" 175gr GC flat points nearby, and was loading a handful of surplus powder jacketed loads to test for function; so I figured it would not hurt to put 3 together and see what happened. I did not even need to change the seater die from the 150gr SP bullets I was loading. 55gr of WC860 and they functioned flawlessly out of the magazine at the second to lowest gas setting. Fairly accurate for being undersized(3" at 50yds) and the brass did not fly to far. I guess a proper mold and sizer is in order to test it further.
