Being a Handiholic myselfk, I'd say about $280.

Buuuuutttt, if you were to put it on an auction site, you'ld likely get quite a bit more IF it's an original 357 Max. If it's a rechamber, then I'd say about $250.

No I'm not tryin to sell one I saw one for sale and its a 357 reamed to Max just trying to figure out it the sellers price is fair since I know next to zip about these!

The 357 Max is a GREAT round out of a Rifle. I have a Handi Rifle that I rechambered to the 357 Max and shoot a Lyman 358315 (200gr GCRNHP) over a load of 5744. It's one of my favorite deer rifles.

It's not a long range rifle for sure, but very accurate and almost gets into 30-30 ballistics. With other loads, I can easily match 30-30 ballistics and still shoot 38 specials, and 357 mags.

Hi,
I have an old H&R .357 single shot rifle and was wondering if it would be worth it to have the chamber reamed out to .357 max length. What are the drawbacks, if any, and what would be the expected costs? I've only done one other job like this (took a .458 Win Mag and took it to a .458 Lott) but had to buy the reamer, which was pricey.

725, Send a PM to Jeff223 on this forum. He has the reamer and I believe he will lend it out or rent it cheaply. You can do it yourself by hand, no power tools required.

Have one of these, satin-nickel plated - be aware that H&R made some of these (mine, for example) marked .357 Mag, but actually chambered for .357 Max. It is a great little round. I use 18 gr. 2400 with the RCBS 200 gr. GC, getting an honest 1750 fps and nice accuracy.
These little single shots don't lend themselves to target shooting on bullseye targets, but I can hit a 20 oz. paper coca-cola cup full of water about every time offhand at 100 yards. Lots of spray & paper fragments. Fun shooting.
