I just finished casting my first run of rifle boolits. Lee .285 130gr for a 7-30 Waters in a 14" Contender and Lee 309 150gr for my various .30 cal rifles. I'm thinking of trying Recluse' Magic Mix on the .285s but will it hold up to higher velocity and longer barrels? If not whats a good choice? I don't mind mixing my own if I can find the ingredients. Thanks in advance.

High velocity well does 3650 fps count. Thats what we have pushed the NOE copy of the Lyman # 107 38gn boolit to using Lotak lube.
Barrel was clean and shiney with no visable fouling.
Accuracy was about 2.5 to 3 moa but that may be due to the alloy not being able to handle the pressure, or some may feel rpm. Either way that is fast if that is what your after.

the 45/45/10 lube will handle over 2k just fine.
i use it on 140 gr boolits in my 8 mauser and poke them along in the 2k zone no problem.
make sure you cook off the jpw and add back the mineral spirits.
i add about 20-25% beeswax when i make it.

Bullshop's Lotak is what I've switched to in all of my guns, 1300-2300 fps. I've sold off my homemade lubes and haven't regretted it once. Of course, I bought a ten year supply of Lotak and lifetime supply of Bullplate when I thought Bullshop was done, but I don't regret that one lick either. :) I have the same results as Bullshop, zero leading, shiny bores.
