My neighbor gave me a brick of corroded 22LR. Is there a way to pull the bullets to salvage the lead without hurting myself?

A pair of pliers and twist. They are heeled bullets and come out easily

In case anyone else searches the forum or Google for heeled bullet:

A heeled bullet is an archaic design of bullet where the internal diameter of the barrel is the same diameter as the cartridge case, and the bullet has a step at the rear to allow it to fit inside the case. Heeled bullets mostly disappeared with the advent of smokeless powder cartridges, though older rimfire designs still use heeled bullets, and many cartridges that date back to the black powder era still reflect their heeled bullet origins in their caliber designations. - Wikipedia

I apologize for my sarcastic "thanks". I should have used Google to read about heeled bullets. Sometimes on forums there can be a thin line between asking general knowledge questions that Google can answer and domain specific questions better answered by the community. I cross that line too often. Anyway, thanks for the info on lube and all the other data you have provided on the forum.

I have pulled the bullets, but they are coated in lube (Winchester bullets). Will that stuff ruin the smelt?
