Midway (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=322124) has Ramshot Silhouette on sale for $ 9.99 a lb before shipping & hasmat , till June 30

It is around HS6/WW540 in speed
It is a flatened ball double base powder

I have used it in the 9 , 40 , 45 and some reduced 357 loads as it flows thru the Dillon powder measure well
Probely could be used in reduced rifle loads , but I have never tryed it

Silohouette is a new and improved version of Winchester Action Pistol (WAP) powder that was discontinued a few years ago by Winchester Powders. Sil. is made by Winchester for Ramshot, and it has a few improvements that make it cleaner burning and less temperature sensitive. It retains the low-flash characteristic of WAP. Reloading data for WAP and Silohouette is interchangeable.

It's good powder. I bought 48 pounds of Ramshot TAC when it was on sale in March, so my surplus powder budget is blown for now, or I'd get me many pounds of this.

I spoke with the President of Ramshot at the NRA convention in St. Louis in April, and he said he's selling these powders below cost by covering part of the cost with his advertising budget, so get this while you can. You will never see these great powders at these prices again.

I just ordered some TAC from Powder Valley today, they have it on special for $77.95 for an 8lb keg. I think their price on Silhouette is $50.00 for 4lb though.

LAH - I bought the TAC for the same price as the Silouette is going for now. I guess every couple months Ramshot is going to run the same sale through Midway, or at least that's the way it's looking to me...

Did any of you guys buy any AA2230 last month when Midway had it on sale? Shipping and hazmat brought it up to $11 a lb. in one lb. cans. I'm shooting 22 grs/311413 in '06 with very good results.

Well, Western Powders bought Accurate, so it looks like they are running a sale through Midway every month, possibly alternating between a Ramshot and an Accurate Arms powder?

Wish I was independently wealthy, as there are several of these I'd like to scoop up. If they run AA#9 at $9.99, I may have to go ahead and get a small loan....:Fire:

Thats a good price. How much does it take to make major in .45 acp? (approx 825 fps with a 200 gr. SWC)

With a 200 gr lead SWC bullet and Silhouette powder
6.6 gr = 850 fps
7.6 gr = 970 fps
Acording to the data I down loaded from the Ramshot website
