Took out an old Ideal 45 sizer I picked up years ago to clean up. It has a .358 Die installed, and a 416 top punch. I find no reference to a 416. It is flat on the bottom, probably for wadcutter sizing. Anyway, just wondering what it is exactly.
Top of punch is rounded, not squared. Only marking is 416 on side. Thanks.

That top punch was meant for the 358416, a boolit that pretty much matched the one used in .38 Colt Special rounds. It had a small flat point instead of being roundnosed. From back when Colt didn't put S&W on their guns if they could help it.

IIRC it had two lube grooves and no crimp groove.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at that mold. My Ideal 45 cleaned up well, looks like new.
